This is a great introduction to the subject of biblical archaeology. The author offers an intense focus on archaeological study--he presents methods and evidence, rather than theory. Granted, there is theory, but it is often a skeptical analysis of other theory. There is an odd ratio of pictures on the work: Many were taken by Laughlin himself, who, if I may say so, isn't too bad a photographer.
